Homemade Chunky Salsa or Pico de Gallo
We don’t really like to measure anything, so play around with this recipe and make it your own.
What you will need:
2 fresh tomatoes
About 3 Tablespoons lime or lemon juice (your choice)
1 Tablespoon minced garlic (I use from a refrigerated bottle) You can also use garlic powder or fresh garlic, just adjust amounts to your taste
1 teaspoon dried oregano or 1 Tablespoon chopped fresh
1 teaspoon dried cilantro or 1 Tablespoon chopped fresh
Salt to taste (about 1 teaspoon)
Pepper to taste (about ½ teaspoon)
About ½ teaspoon cumin
Chop the tomato and onion up into small pieces. For every tomato you use, use about half an onion, or more or less depending on your taste. You can even use a food chopper for the onions if you’d like smaller pieces.
Add the lemon/lime juice.
Now just mix your spices in, to your taste. Make it ahead of time so the flavors can really come out.
